An expo highlight was the performance of the talented Peruvian singer ‘’Adonis Castro’’ singing during the opening ceremony of the temporary exhibition: Mochicas, masters of the desert. Adonis Castro is a young Peruvian tenor and member of the Youth Choir of Sinfonía por el Perú, a non-profit organization that works with children and young people to improve their lives through the teaching and practice of music. The crowd that day were in awe of the way he conveyed his emotions and love for his country through song.

We had the chance to catch up with Mr. Castro and hear about his experience. He was honored to be invited to Expo by Dubai Care Media, and his reaction when he received the flight tickets to the other side of the world was that of shock, he couldn’t believe it! As he explained.

How was he perceived by the international audience and what were the reactions he received for his performances at the Expo 2020 Dubai stages? Mr. Castro explained that he decided to change language in some sections of the songs, because it was attended by people from all over the world, so wanted to make sure they could understand the meaning of the lyrics, ‘’when I finished my songs the members of the audience were surprised and came to greet and thank me, many wanted to interact with me and take photos, oh and I had many interviews! For me it was an unforgettable experience.’’

We asked Mr. Castro to send a message to the audience of Expo 2020 Dubai and this is what he said: ‘’We have been part of a magical event that brought together all the cultures of the world in one place. Remember, every dream comes true if you persist in what you do. They believed in me and made it a reality because I was persistent, and my message is to fight for your dreams no matter how difficult it is, if you can dream it, you can do it! Thank you very much for all the support and warmth you made me feel in Dubai.’’
